Flora by Gucci + Cole and Son

I love a design story with history, especially when it’s so well done!  For the Salon De Mobile Wallpaper magazine commissioned Cole and Son’s to translate Grace Kelly’s Flora – Gucci scarf into a wall covering.  Let’s hope this beautiful paper goes into production for the public! I would cover a wall in either my daughter’s room or a powder room with this gorgeous fashion inspired print.

Grace, you are one of my top style icons! She’s such a classic beauty.

guess I missed this one

Sherwin Williams: SW8EG5315 –

I was doing a little blog catch up today. I’ve been so busy with my business, kids, teaching etc. that I don’t spend as much time reading blogs as I’d like. I have my daughter with me today, so she’s watching a little TV with a big bag of popcorn for a few minutes. I was reading today  Oh Happy Day. Jordan seems so sweet, so does her relationship with her husband. She and her hubby seem to work like a team, now wouldn’t that be nice? My friends always comment on how hard it must be doing the single Mommy thing. I’ve come to realize I was doing the single Mommy thing when I was married. Oh well, enough of that. Jordan has a segment on her blog about how easy it was to take down her “removable” wall paper. Removable paper is perfect for design enthusiasts like myself. (we quickly tire of the same colors, prints, designs etc.). The pattern is by Sherwin Williams, the number is SW8EG5135. I guess it’s tricky to put up but isn’t it a fun pattern and by Sherwin Williams…who knew? I may have to use this one when I find my little cottage by the sea. I also can’t wait to share the re-design, when I purchase my place…Fingers crossed that it happens sooner then later. We will see!! The bottom image is of Jordan removing the paper. Her family is moving into a 450 sq. foot apartment. Stay tuned and check out her wonderful blog for updates on her move and new space!

Nice job Jordan!

Holding onto Summer – Beetle Cat – Room of the Week

I adore this bedroom. In fact this entire vacation home featured in September’s House Beautiful by designer Mona Ross Berman is fabulous {I’ll feature more of her amazing work tomorrow}. The Beetle Cat wall paper by Katie Ridder and custom bunk bed make the room!

A wooden Beetle Cat. Beetle Cat sail boats are only 12′ long. They are primarily manufactured in Massachusetts. I love their lines. They are perfect beginner’s boat. I can’t wait to sign my son and daughter up for lessons.

Project Sneak Peek

Isn’t this finial gorgeous?
I love transforming furniture..It’s a very important part of the creative process for me! I have a great set of craftspeople lined up who help turn my ideas into reality. Here is a snapshot of one of my latest project pieces for a client. It is a vintage Chippendale chair. We had it sprayed and sealed to match a turquoise necklace I happening to be wearing the day of our design meeting! I love the details of this chair, the finial, the color the, final seat fabric. I was very happy with the end result, as was my client! (which is the most important part of my job!) Be sure to check out my website in a few weeks. I am going to include a section that actually sells some of my vintage transformations and along with a small custom furniture line…eeek..I’m very excited about it..

Here’s another piece of the project. We had the panels for the client’s credenza covered in one of my favorite wall coverings..

This wall covering is simply amazing isn’t it? It comes in a number of colors and is part of the Osborne and Little vintage collection!

sorry about the blurry image..but you get the point..right?
